When you install Synapse Arc, we collect:

  • Store information (shop domain, shop name, email address)
  • Shopify access tokens required to operate the app
  • Product and order data to power AI responses
  • Customer chat conversation data
  • Usage analytics and performance metrics

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and improve our AI customer support services
  • Generate automated responses to customer inquiries
  • Analyze conversation patterns to improve response quality
  • Send operational notifications related to escalations
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

  • AI inference providers (Google Gemini, Groq) to generate responses - only conversation content is shared, never payment data
  • Email service providers (Resend) to send notifications
  • Hosting providers (Vercel, Neon) for infrastructure

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your store has Synapse Arc installed. Upon uninstallation, we delete your store data within 48 hours in compliance with Shopify GDPR requirements.

6. GDPR Compliance

We comply with Shopify GDPR webhook requirements. Merchants and customers can request data export or deletion by contacting us. We have implemented all three mandatory GDPR webhook endpoints: customer data request, customer data erasure, and shop data erasure.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission, secure credential storage, HMAC webhook verification, and strict multi-tenant data isolation ensuring your store data is never accessible to other merchants.
